Please mark your calendars for SyncroSim 2023, a user conference hosted by the U.S. Geological Survey and Apex Resource Management Solutions, in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy’s LANDFIRE Team.
The conference will bring together users of SyncroSim modeling tools – including the ST-Sim software – and provide opportunities to share and learn about the diversity of applications of these tools. The event will include optional one-day training sessions on the use of SyncroSim and SyncroSim packages, followed by two days of talks by scientists and managers in the field of ecological forecasting from across North America. Topics will include land use and land cover change, forest and rangeland management, wildfire, ecological restoration, invasive plant management, species distribution modeling, climate change and carbon modeling. We will also spend some time presenting and discussing future directions for the development of SyncroSim. This is a unique opportunity to find out who is doing what and how they are doing it, and to provide input into future developments in ecological forecasting technology.
Conference Highlights
- Training courses on an Introduction to state-and-transition modeling using ST-Sim and Advanced ecological forecasting and package development using SyncroSim.
- Presentations by scientists and managers from across North America using SyncroSim in ecological forecasting projects.
- Panel discussion on the future direction of SyncroSim and latest tool developments.
- An optional excursion day hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park.
