    I recently had a user report an error whereby upon exporting to excel they got a message that said:
    “An error exporting. More information: Retrieving the COM class factory… from HRESULT:… [OK]”

    This error has something to do with the MS Office .Net programmability support not being installed properly. I was able to reproduce this error using Office 365 and eliminate the error by running a repair on Office 365. To do this in Windows go to Start | Control Panel | Programs and Features then find Microsoft Office. Right click on it and select Change then Quick Repair.

    Alternatively you can also choose to export your files as csv instead of xlsx. To do this on the window that opens after you select Export chose CSV files (*.csv) under Save as type.
