Issue: After updating from Windows 10 to Windows 11, when creating a new SyncroSim Library in the SyncroSim User Interface and choosing which folder to store it in, the folder “Browse…” window only displays Desktop folders. The user cannot access folders in “My Documents”, “Downloads”, “C:/Users”, etc. and is therefore forced to save the new Library to a Desktop-level folder.

Solution: This issue is caused by the Desktop folder syncing with OneDrive. Follow these steps to disable OneDrive backup for your Desktop folder:

    1. Copy any important files from your Desktop to another folder or external drive so your local copies don’t get erased.
    2. Right-click the OneDrive icon in the Notification area in the bottom-right of the screen and click the gear icon and then Settings.
    3. In the Sync and back up tab, select Manage back up.
    4. In the Manage folder back up window that appears, select the Stop back up link under Desktop.
    5. In the confirmation window that appears, select Stop back up.
