Installing and running multiple versions of ST-Sim simultaneously

 We’ve been asked in the past if it is possible to run multiple versions of ST-Sim at the same time. 

 

Normally whenever you install a new version of ST-Sim it will automatically replace the previous version. To prevent this from happening and thus retain a previous version of ST-Sim you can do the following:

1. Open ST-Sim and find the version number of your current install (under Help|About menu) – for this example assume the version is 2.3.8
2. Find the folder where ST-Sim is installed – by default on 64-bit machines this is in the folder C:\Program Files\ApexRMS\SyncroSim (with ST-Sim)
3. Make a copy of this folder and name the new folder something like  "SyncroSim (with ST-Sim) – version 2.3.8"
4. In this new folder right-click on the file ApexRms.SyncroSim.WinForm.exe and select Copy
5. Navigate to your desktop and click "Paste Shortcut". Rename this shortcut to something like "ST-Sim 2.3.8"
6. At this point you have preserved a copy of the old version of ST-Sim and you can invoke it at any time using the new shortcut on your desktop
7. Install the new version of ST-Sim – once installed it, too, will be available (under Start button-All Programs-SyncroSim)
