Due to a recent significant update to rsyncrosim from version 1.4 to 1.5, we would like to call attention to the following change to the user experience highlighted in a previous forum post .

Rsyncrosim v1.5 no longer returns internal columns when using the datasheet() function. Users may find that their R scripts developed using rsyncrosim 1.4 have different outputs when run using rsyncrosim v1.5. The columns that are no longer returned are now hidden by default as they should not be modified by the package user – they are filled in automatically by the SyncroSim Package.

For example, the helloworldSpatial package has a datasheet called “RunControl”, where the MinimumIteration column is hidden by the package developer. This is because the MinimumIteration column by default is always set to 1 and it doesn’t make sense to have the MinimumIteration value set to any value other than 1. This column exists because it is used internally by SyncroSim but does not need to be configured by the user.

If a user would like to be able to access these internal columns in rsyncrosim v1.5, they can set the new returnInvisible argument to TRUE when calling the datasheet() function.

For a description of other major changes, please see the following blog post:

New software released: SyncroSim v2.5.9, rsyncrosim v1.5.0, & pysyncrosim v1.1.0
