I would like to run StSim on a Windows 8 machine with 32 GB ram. Does anyone know if StSim is compatible with Windows 8?

While we haven’t tried it yet, there is no reason to believe it wouldn’t work. However as a fallback you can always run legacy applications in compatibility mode – see http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-run-older-programs-under-windows-8.html

If you do try it under Windows 8 please let us know how it goes.

I moved my desktop machine to windows 8 pro and am running StSim v 1.3.0 on it with no problems. As far as StSim goes, the upgrade to 32 gb of ram and windows 8 pro posed no problems at all. I have the OS and software installed on an Intel solid state hard drive. StSim runs quickly and doesn’t hit the mechanical hard drive except to write results. This is a good set-up for StSim.
